The Origin of Limpia Tu Mar PV
Limpia Tu Mar PV was born in 2019 after the passage of tropical storm Narda, which affected the beaches of southern Banderas Bay. A group of tourist service providers in Puerto Vallarta, noticing the large amount of garbage washed into the sea, decided to join together to support the victims and, subsequently, to incorporate as a civil association in 2022. Since then, this organization has worked tirelessly in garbage fishing, collecting half a ton of garbage during last year’s rainy season alone.
Details of the International Garbage Fishing Tournament
The trash fishing tournament seeks to bring together 30 boats sponsored by companies or boat owners, allowing teams of 4 to 6 people, including children, to participate without covering the cost of a boat. To encourage participation, prizes will be awarded to the teams that collect the most garbage. At the end of the day, a social gathering will be held to celebrate the cleanup efforts and encourage collaboration among volunteers, sponsors, and participants. This event is not only a competition, but also an opportunity to strengthen the community and encourage respect for our natural environment.
