Vallarta Online / PUERTO VALLARTA, JALISCO – Puerto Vallarta in Times Square was one of the protagonists in the vibrant celebration of Mexico’s Independence Day in New York, organized by the Mexican Consulate. The event, held on September 16th in the heart of Times Square, offered Puerto Vallarta a unique platform to highlight its tourism offer at an international level, attracting the attention of more than 40 thousand attendees. This event not only celebrated Mexican culture, but also positioned Puerto Vallarta as one of the most attractive beach destinations for the upcoming fall-winter season.

The Puerto Vallarta delegation was accompanied by outstanding hotels such as Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa, The Westin Resort & Spa Puerto Vallarta, and Hotel Nómada, as well as by Grupo Garbo and representatives of Vallarta Pride. Together they promoted the multiple tourist offers of the destination, highlighting its incredible offer of outdoor activities and special events that make Puerto Vallarta an ideal place for all types of travelers.

Air Connectivity: Puerto Vallarta Closer Than Ever

One of the key points highlighted during the event was Puerto Vallarta’s air connectivity in Times Square. Currently, the destination has direct flights all year round from New York through United Airlines, from Newark Airport. In addition, it was announced that as of January 2025, Alaska Airlines will also begin operating direct flights from JFK airport with four weekly frequencies, further facilitating access to the destination from the East Coast of the United States. Aeromexico also had a presence at the event, celebrating 90 years of operations and promoting its flights to Puerto Vallarta with a stopover in Mexico City.

The Bell at the Nasdaq Stock Exchange

Another highlight was Puerto Vallarta’s participation in the opening of the Nasdaq Stock Market, where images of the destination were projected on the iconic screens of Times Square, showing the breathtaking natural beauty of the port. This intervention not only celebrated Mexico’s Independence Day, but also presented Puerto Vallarta as a world-class tourist destination in one of the most important financial scenarios in the world.
