Vallarta Online / PUERTO VALLARTA, JALISCO – Cleaning of the Mirador de la Cruz: A Community Effort to Protect Our Spaces.

The Mirador de la Cruz Cleanup is an initiative that unites the Puerto Vallarta community in an important action to keep our spaces clean and healthy. This Tuesday, September 24, at 8:00 am, volunteers from the Colectivo Ecolíderes Vallarta, in collaboration with Carl’s Jr. Restaurant, will gather to clean one of the most iconic areas of our city: the Mirador de la Cruz.

In this event, which will begin at the meeting point in front of Banorte del Malecon (located at Paseo Diaz Ordaz 690, corner with Leona Vicario), participants will be able to contribute to take care of a space of great value for the local community and tourists visiting Puerto Vallarta.

5 Reasons to Participate in the Mirador de la Cruz Cleanup

  1. Protect the Environment and Local Biodiversity The Mirador de la Cruz Cleanup is not only a community activity, but a direct action to protect local biodiversity. By removing trash and debris, we prevent pollution from spreading, protecting both the flora and fauna that surround this beautiful place. The viewpoint is a natural space that we all enjoy, and keeping it clean helps preserve its beauty for future generations.
  2. Encourage Community Responsibility Being part of the Mirador de la Cruz Cleanup allows you to contribute to something bigger than yourself. Fostering a sense of community responsibility is key to ensuring that our public spaces are enjoyed by all in the best possible condition. In addition, this event offers an excellent opportunity to meet other people who, like you, care about the well-being of our environment.
  3. Local Business Support We have the valuable support of Carl’s Jr. a company committed to initiatives that promote sustainability and community well-being. At the end of the cleanup day, there will be gifts courtesy of Carl’s Jr. as a thank you to the volunteers for their efforts and dedication. It’s a fun and meaningful way to end the event!
  4. Enhancing the Tourist Experience El Mirador de la Cruz is a popular destination for locals and tourists alike. Keeping this space clean not only enriches the visitors’ experience, but also reinforces the image of Puerto Vallarta as a place committed to the environment. By cleaning up the lookout point, we all benefit: locals, tourists and, of course, nature.
  5. An Opportunity to Reflect and Reconnect with Nature In addition to being a cleanup space, the Mirador de la Cruz offers spectacular views of the city and the ocean. Participating in this event gives you the opportunity to disconnect from the daily hustle and bustle, reflect and enjoy nature while actively contributing to its conservation.

What should you bring?

To participate in the Mirador de la Cruz Cleanup, be sure to come prepared. Here is a list of essential items:

  • Water: Keep your body hydrated while working in the sun.
  • Gloves and Tweezers: These are basic tools for safe and efficient trash collection.
  • Comfortable Clothing and Footwear: Wear appropriate outdoor clothing and comfortable footwear, ideally closed-toed, to move easily around the overlook grounds.
