It's comforting to know that the ONLY place to get a pulled roast beef sandwich in Puerto Vallarta also has a DELICIOUS one! Definitely a must have!

PICNIC... a casual delight

Picnic is owned by Luis. His comfortable indoor/outdoor restaurant is located in the Zona Romantica area of Vallarta - the older, charming Puerto Vallarta. On this trip, I ate lunch at Picnic on 8 of the 12 days I was in Puerto Vallarta. As I have mentioned in a previous "Picnic posts" to my blog, I almost always order my favorite – the roasted chicken, red rice&roasted potatoes.
Not today. I tired something new – the yellow curry chicken salad. This fantastic combo of chunked roasted chicken, egg, celery, and onion blended with a light yellow curry mayo dressing was delicious! A generous mound of chicken salad is served on a fresh roll (delivered daily) with lettuce and tomato. Of course, I felt the need to order a small serving of Picnic’s infamous roasted potatoes. Heavenly!

A really great burger which they serve with potato chips or salad. I can′t comment on other menu items but the service is good and attentive and we have never had to wait, perhaps we go when they are not overloaded with people to serve.

Not what you think

This place has a nice location and atmosphere, but the food is not much to be desired. Cheap prices, and cheap quality. They advertise American cuisine, but they fail at it. The chicken breast burger is no more than cold bits of a whole chicken put on a bun with some strange mayonaise / Mexican butter mixture spread on the bun. Fries were not cooked through, and soggy. Service was slow - took nearly 10 minutes to get a menu, as there was only one waiter serving the whole restaurant. Save your time, and go elsewhere.

Sounds Good!

Never eaten here, actually never heard of the place, but it sounds like a bargain! I will look for it on my next visit!

Entirely worth your while.

This is the original menu from Chile''s and every bit as delcicious. Rotisserie Chicken best in town. Try the French Beef dip. Closes early. Immaculately clean, delicious food, great prices.
