This is a real find. It is way "off the beaten path." Husband does the cooking and the wife makes the desserts and takes care of the customers. Tapas are wonderful. a real find in any city.

Yes, it's true, as one reviewer observed, that Adan's wife Mirella is less than cordial with the guests. Pity poor Adan. But Adan and his staff cook the most fabulous tapas I've ever had outside of Spain. Ignore Mirella, and enjoy Adan's wonderful cooking. The pulpo is to die for!

great food,terrible service

Having spent five days in PV and returned only yesterday, we managed to eat twice at La Esquina. Miren and Adan were perfect hosts and the food was most authentic. I say this as someone who has been going to Spain since 1973. Everything you would expect to find at a small tapa bar in Madrid you will find here. The fideua de camaron was one of the best I have eaten. The ali-oli was full strength. There are a number of wines by the glass and all of them are Spanish. The place is small - six or seven tables -, but it is run by people who have put their heart and soul into the cooking. The interior is sparse and rather dark, but the overall experience is unforgettable.
