A communications expert by profession and a native of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Javier has successfully helped many children with cancer for the past 12 years. With the death of his father, who had cancer, Javier experienced, firsthand, the suffering of families who were in the same situation.

He began his journey with the Make-a-Wish Foundation, supporting the sponsorship of research and as well as drugs that children needed at the Guadalajara Civic Hospital, where he met his wife and, with her and friends, created the CANICA, AC Foundation (Support Center for Children with Cancer).

" I say to people who are going through this, that they are not alone, and no one in the family is guilty of this situation. There are institutions such as CANICA, whose members are committed to accompanying them, to offer resources and be facilitators for quality of life during this health crisis. "

Now, CANICA, thanks to the tireless work of Javier, is an official member of the ICCCPO (International Confederation of Childhood Cancer Parent Organization) is an international organization to support children with cancer, of which only two Mexican institutions are a part. Javier is vice president of the confederation for Latin America. It also organized the first meeting of the International Day of Children with Cancer in Guadalajara, Jalisco on February 15, 2007.

"My biggest dream now is to build the first children's cancer hospital in Mexico; a comprehensive care project where, in addition to medical care, children with cancer and their families could receive care in all other areas of their lives, such as emotional, spiritual and social support."

To achieve this dream, Javier is in organizing the event "My friend with no hair," an interesting project to pool resources and create an institution in the city of Guadalajara that will comprehensively support children and young people from Puerto Vallarta, who are suffering from cancer.
