One hundred percent Vallartan, Ireri Topete Vallarta Bay shares with us a bit of her history in this beautiful port.

"There are many fond memories I have of my childhood and youth, I've had to witness dramatic changes in the environment of the city, however, it has not kept me from enjoying it now and I still feel privileged living here."

As a child she knew this small town that holds great memories. Her education in public schools began in Puerto Vallarta, and then she moved to Guadalajara for her higher education at the Art School of the University of Guadalajara (UdeG). She continues to improve her education and is currently pursuing her academic levels in the Visual Arts at the University College of Arts, Architecture and Design at the University of Guadalajara.

"On the other hand, in my art training I have not failed to attend workshops of visual arts, especially in the last 5 years in various workshops in including one in Havana, Cuba in 2005."

She is dedicated to teaching and producing her work. In the morning she runs a workshop teaching drawing and painting at the Cuale Cultural Center; an activity that she has developed over several years.

"The workshops have been very important for my professional development, because they allows for feedback with people interested in the arts. I have my studio where I develop my afternoon production activities of my artwork now, painting and graphics."

Ireri is part of the collective "La Malagua" a group of Vallartan artists that have raised the name of this city to great heights. Her coming projects are an alternate event to the International Book Fair, which is the International Network of Artist's Books, which Puerto Vallarta will host and the presentation of the collection "La Loteria" (The Lottery) at the Museum of the Americas in Denver, Colorado in 2010.

"I have two solo exhibitions in Vallarta, one at the Naval Museum in November and one in my studio early next year, and I will also participate in an exchange of workshops with the Pratt Institute in Seattle.
