It's time to put on a pair of runners, because the 7th Annual Puerto Vallarta International Half Marathon & 5Km Race 2009 will be held in Puerto Vallarta on November 8. These events have already become a tradition in the city. This year the competition is dedicated to Eng. Gabriel Igartúa Méndez, a great promoter of this tourist destination.
Everything will start at 6:50am, when the starting signal will be given to the half-marathon participants, while competitors in the 5km Race will see action at 7:00am. Everything will be based out of the Agustín Flores Contreras Sports Stadium. Competition will develop along Blvd Francisco Medina Ascencio, so if you need travel through this area, make alternate arrangements or take an alternate route.
From Thursday, November 5 to Saturday November 7 a Sport & Health Expo will be mounted at the Stadium sports facilities, which is geared towards athletes and any one in the general public interested in these themes. This Expo will feature over 20 booths with products and services related to health and sport.
It is important to note that the participants of the Half Marathon and 5K can pick up their numbers and race kits during the expo. They will not be available the day of the competition. Both the half marathon and 5km race will be broadcast on local cable television. The registration fee per participant is $200 pesos.
