Spring Vacation Vallarta Style
| How do you imagine your vacation? As you wish!
Your wish…Unlimited beach and fiesta While the sun shines, the beach is the place to be. Playa Los Muertos, Las glorias, the new beach club downtown, and the beaches of the Marina and Nuevo Vallarta, are the busiest.
While the moon is out, the party is on the Malecón. Carlos O'Brians (Monday, thong contest), Zoo and Club 69 (drinks 2x1 all night long). Live Rock in Viejo Vallarta, Hard Rock, and Bebo Tero. And to continue the fiesta until 10:00 a.m. there is High, in the Romantic Zone. Do you like to dance a little closer? The Cuban band at La Bodeguita del Medio will satiate your desires with their guaguancó flavor.
Festy Vallarta (March 23-27) Festy Vallarta, at the Explanda Flamingos, presents rock band, traditional Mexican banda, and tropical rhythms at night and during the day games on the beach, including volleyball and soccer, and bikini and wet t-shirt contests. More details can be found in the events guide. Santo Des…mind (April 1-2) A stage on the beach of the Hotel Holiday Inn, presents Elefante, Inspector, Plastilina Mosh, Plastico, La Cuca, and Kalimba, and more. Telehit, the Mexican television music channel, will host the event. April 1 and 2, free entrance. (More then 50,000 people are expected!) Your wish…Tranquility and contact with nature If beach parties are not for you and you prefer to remove yourself and rest, the beaches on the north coast are a good option-peaceful and solitary, with small restaurants. Perhaps you prefer the exuberant vegetation of the south, Yelapa, is an enchanting pueblito full of silence, and is only accessible by boat. Reserve a tour to Yelapa, have breakfast on board and enjoy the horizon.
Water sports Get to know the underwater national parks of Los Arcos and Marietas Islands, travel by boat and you can snorkel, scuba, or simply sun yourself drinking a cool beverage. Art Walk Twelve galleries downtown open their doors in the evening two Wednesdays each month, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Each gallery serves cocktails during the Art Walk. New exhibitions are inaugurated and many of the artists are present. You wish…To get to know the Herat of Vallarta To emerge yourself in the life and culture of our Port is a fascinating experience. Walk down the cobblestone streets, enjoy a coffee in the Romantic Zone, and go the Main Plaza on Sunday, where you will hear the band and later you can dance to the Cuban rhythms of danzón. There are also tours that offer tours of the city and outlying areas. Via Crucis You can take part in a traditional Via Crusis (Stations of the Cross) in three different locations in Puerto Vallarta on Good Friday, March 25. The Via Cruces is the biblical reenactment of Christ's journey starting with his condemnation by Pilate until his crucifixion on the cross. In front of each of the fourteen stations believers will be praying and asking forgiveness for their sins. At each station a key person will deliver the prayer and corresponding biblical text for that station, followed by time for personal prayer and reflection. Then the leader will recite prayers glorifying Jesus for His sacrifice and will lead the prayers of Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory Be before moving on to the next station. During the journey participants sing songs of regret and forgiveness.
Rió Cuale Anthropological Museum The museum presents a Huichol exhibit along with artifacts from western Mexico. Open Monday-Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. It is small, don't miss it. Free entrance.
Home Tours Get to know the most beautiful houses in Puerto Vallarta, and support the International Friendship Club. Your wish…A vacation full of adventure Move along the mountains on bicycle; rent an ATV, traverse rivers with a dune buggy. If you prefer something aerial, do not miss the Canopy tours, a trip on zip lines through the tree tops. On horseback? There are many options to get to know the heart of the mountains. No matter what you desire, in Puerto Vallarta you can make that a reality.
