Punta de Mita Mariscos Tinos  One of the three branches of this seafood establishment is located in Punta de Mita. You will enjoy their cuisine by the beach and their first-quality service. One example is their pescado zarandeado (broiled whole fish) ($180 pesos), which takes 30 minutes to prepare. They offer an excellent stocked bar and sell Cuban cigars. Mictlan Surf School  At the entrance to the beach in the Punta de Mita plaza, Mictlan Surf School offers everything you need for surfing: board rentals, sales and repairs. They also offer whale-watching expeditions at $1,200 pesos for six people. Mesón de Mita  If you want to stay at a place near the beach, Meson de Mita is a good option with its comfortable accommodations, whether you need a single room ($550 pesos) or lodging for six. And if you desire, there are camping spots with nearby restrooms and showers, not to mention access to a swimming pool and a restaurant. Their check-out time is 12:00pm. Punta de Mita Expeditions  This scuba center offers expeditions for novices and advanced divers, day or night. PADI courses are also offered for professional certification. They also offer fishing excursions with expert guides. Their whale watching services include an underwater listening device, so you can hear the sounds the whales emit, for $90 USD per person. Four Seasons Swimmers  This oceanfront restaurant recently opened its doors, offering a large variety of seafood dishes created by chef Oscar Roque. Enjoy the delicious food with the Pacific Ocean and people playing in the water as the background. With any luck, you might also see some whales, in season. Rent a Booggie  This tiny establishment on the beach offers rentals of kayaks and surfboards for $150 pesos per hour, or a smaller board for $50 pesos per hour. They offer a wide variety of products for enjoying the beach, and the clear water allows you to observe the marine life. Souvenirs  As in any tourist destination, souvenirs are a must. Here in Punta de Mita, the most popular are surf-inspired T-shirts and, of course, shells for decorating your home, or as necklaces and bracelets.  |
