| Want to see some of Vallarta's most unique homes up close and personal? No problema. Just walk over to the Hotel Posada Rio Cuale, on Aquiles Serdán 246 any Wednesday or Thursday morning (now through April 28), purchase a ticket ($35USD) and board the air-conditioned "home tour" bus. A knowledgeable docent will share points of interest as you drive to four different casas, and the bus will deposit you back at the hotel approximately two-and-a-half-hours later. Departure times are: 10:30 and 11:00. At the conclusion of the tour you will also have the opportunity to purchase Vittles, Vistas, Vignettes de Vallarta, a wonderful cookbook featuring reprinted works of many of Vallarta's artists, and select recipes for delicious local cuisine, including signature dishes from some of the most popular Vallarta restaurants. The cost is US$25. Proceeds from cookbook sales and the home tours fund local charities and services, such as cleft palate operations, orthodontics, speech therapy and many other special projects supported by the International Friendship Club (IFC). Approximately sixty Vallarta residents generously offer their casas for inclusion on the IFC's home tours, which means you can go several times and continue to see different properties.
