We first stayed at the BuenaVentura. We extended our stay in Puerto Vallarta for an extra few days. Our friend Berlio from the Viejo Vallarta Restaurant (excellent food!!!!) recommended the Rio. We are glad he did. Very courteous staff, great food. The only thing you may want to know in advance is that there is no elevator if step are an issue for you. Otherwise, for the money, this is a great location. They'll let you see the rooms first.
